ANNUAL ALA SHOWS
The League's "North Little Rock MAYOR'S SHOW" is the major annual event of the year and is open to members only. The show is held during the month of May at the North Little Rock Senior Citizen Center. First through Fourth place ribbons are awarded, with cash prizes in the following categories: Abstract, Animal, Figurative, Floral, Landscape, and Still Life. This show usually has over fifty entries. ALA holds "Monthly Competitions" at monthly meetings where members can bring their artwork and have them voted on by the membership. Winner's works are then displayed for one month in various banks. The League then holds the "Winner's Show" in the month of November at Laman Library in North Little Rock. The League also has an arrangement for members to display their work at Galaxy Office Furniture on Main Street in North Little Rock.

Arkansas League of Artists
ALA is one of the oldest and largest diverse art groups in the state of Arkansas with over 100 members from the entire Central Arkansas area. It is run by an elected Board of Directors who meet monthly prior to the monthly member meeting. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at the North Little Rock Community Center across from the Patrick Hays Senior Citizen Center. The meetings begin at 7:00 PM with a short business and announcement session, then break for refreshments, during which time the members vote on the monthly winners. The program begins at 7:30, usually an artist giving a demonstration of various painting techniques. Annual member dues are $25 for artists and $10 for students and are payable each August. ALA is organized as a non-profit society and funds are used for art fellowships and art programs.
MEMBERSHIP
Artists can easily join ALA by attending a meeting and paying the annual dues of $25. There is no meeting during the month of December. Meeting address: North Little Rock Community Center 2700 North Willow Street North Little Rock
