First Annual Show Big Success
"The Guild's First Annual Show, held at the Little Rock River Market East Pavilion, was a huge success," exclaimed Guild president, Eduardo Gomez, as the show closed and the results were compiled. Ed Gomez, a Little Rock sculptor and David Harris, a Hot Springs artist and foundry owner, were the organizers of the Arkansas Sculptors Guild and the Little Rock Show, held March 31 and April 1, 2006. Twenty two Arkansas sculptors participated in the two day show featuring almost all art mediums in sizes ranging from small table-top pieces to ten-foot tall creations. The Guild was organized to feature sculpture in Arkansas and to promote Arkansas sculptors. The first Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale was the result.

Second Annual Show 2007
Arkansas Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale was held Friday and Saturday, March 30th and 31st 2007. The weather did not cooperate and attendance suffered. Plans are now being discussed for other locations that are weather-proof. Additional shows during the year are also being considered.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to increase the production, quality, appreciation and placement of works by Arkansas sculptors in residential, commercial, and public spaces across Arkansas.
OBJECTIVES
To insure that the term "Arkansas First" is applied in the creation of business opportunities for Arkansas sculptors and sculpture-related businesses by the public sector at local and state levels. To inform the public, media, local and state governments about existing sculptors and production facilities within our state. To create a comprehensive database of ARSG sculptors and facilities that will be easily accessible to the general public, state and local agencies and that will serve as a resource to notify local artists about public art sculptural projects and jobs that are coming up for bid. To cooperate with schools and universities to improve available training for sculptors in the state and to develop apprenticeship and mentoring programs with professional artists. To develop adequate venues for showing, marketing, and appreciation of sculpture.
