SCULPTOR Participates in History ! Sculptor Bob Rees, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is helping make history by creating time capsules. The time capsule in the photo on the left will be displayed in the lobby of the historic Basin Park Hotel for the next 100 years.
TYSON FOODS donates parts . . . The center core is made of schedule 40 stainless steel pipe about 3' long . . . the entire sculpture is about six feet tall. Many of the components were donated to the project by Tyson Foods, the well-known poultry processing company whose corporate offices are next door in Springdale, Arkansas.
Project Doubled in Size . . . The owners of the hotel, Marty and Elise Roenigk, who also own the historic Crescent Hotel, will bury a similar time capsule on that hotel grounds for the next 100 years. The Tyson corporate officials who were instrumental in assisting the project were Archie Schaffer and Ed Nicholson.

Not too shabby for a jeweler turned sculptor!

The Park Basin Hotel Time Capsule
Jeweler Recycles Industrial Material Contemporary Sculpture from salvaged industrial materials has kept artist BOB REES busy for the last three years. Rees, a long time resident of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, was previously known as a jeweler and designer. In the last three years, however, he has been creating sculpture from cast off industrial materials that he recycled from the salvage yards of Industrial giant, Tyson Foods.
Recently recognized for his work by executives of Tyson Foods, he is now slated for a One Man Show with a special reception at Tyson's corporate offices in early December.
Unusual commissions . . .
Rees current projects include two Time Capsules privately commissioned to be created from materials also donated by Tyson Foods. These Capsules will be placed at the historic Basin Park and Crescent Hotels in Eureka Springs.
